Beginning May 14, 2011 White Rock Local Market will accept Lone Star EBT SNAP cards (food stamps) at the Farmers Market. This program will enable us to widen our customer base and at the same time bring healthy, local foods to low income residents of our community. WRLM is the first farmers market in Dallas County to accept SNAP benefits.
Customers will also have the ability to purchase tokens with their debit/check cards to use like cash at WRLM.
Here’s how it works:
Customers will use their Lone Star cards, or bank debit cards, to purchase tokens from the WRLM info booth. Tokens are in $1 and $5 amounts. Customers can use the tokens to purchase items at the market from participating vendors. It’s that easy!
Stop by the information booth for more information.
